Comparison Spreadsheet issue
Hi Bob,
A coworker and I encountered a few issues with a spreadsheet generated through the Compare Districts tool, and I was wondering if they would be easy to take care of in the context of current work.
1. The default file name given to the spreadsheet is “filename.asp.xls.” Microsoft Outlook (at least on PCs) will block access to this file if sent without being renamed to exclude .asp.
2. There is a space before all numeric data in the attached spreadsheet, which makes working with the data difficult. It would be great if the space could be removed. (See attached.)
3. Also, if possible (and I can’t remember if this is possible or not with how the spreadsheets are generated), enrollment should be stored as a number, the percent free and reduced price meals as a percent, and the County Codes and District Codes as text, so they will retain any leading zeros. (See attached.)
Please let me know if you have any questions, and whether or not these issues would be easy to take care of at this time.

Hi Greg,
This problem seems to be partially fixed, but I am still encountering it. Here's how to replicate it:
-Click on Find
-In the keyword field, enter: API
-A pop-up window will give you three options, click on the very first link: Academic Performance Index (API)
It will bring you a long list of links, which seem to be going to the 10.20.10.17 server and I got the following error message:
The connection has timed out
The server at 10.20.10.17 is taking too long to respond.
It's happening in both Firefox and IE.
(BTW - idea for future enhancement, the browsers really don't like the pop-up.)

Update Special Programs Table
When enrollment at a school is less than 6, put an "N/A" in the Number of Students and Percent of Enrollment columns in the Special Programs table. Also, add a second footnote to Free/Reduced Price Meals and the following text in the footnote area for the second footnote:
2 Data is not reported for schools with 5 or fewer students.

High School comparisons
Teri pointed out an issue in Compare Schools report. Some high schools in California don’t have dropout data which could be because they do not have grade span data. The accountability high school tab only show schools that have grade spans 9-12. Similarly, some elementary schools that have a grade 9 are included in the tab and have dropout data. It might be possible to change how we display high school data, perhaps based on Type of School. Teri and Larry will work on solving this problem after we do the initial release. A good time to implement the solution might be when we update the dropout data with official numbers mid-September. |

In the financial comparison report, we need to figure out a way either by filter or results selection or both to include passage of local bond or parcel tax elections. It was suggested that in the results tab we only display a “Yes” or “No” with a hyperlink to the districts Bond and Parcel Tax Report.
